Car 1, Ogier/Ingrassia
“It’s been difficult, but in the end I managed to make the difference. There was no more risk than before, I just had really good tyre management that was key. I didn’t push crazy.”
Car 2, Latvala/Anttila
“It was very good, there were a couple of points braking too early and the tyres started to go off a bit towards the end of the stage. I’m excited to see how the others are behind me. Quite a disappointing rally, I need to focus on the next rallies and the championship. I hope that was enough for the power stage.”
Car 4, Ostberg/Anderson
“For me it’s been okay, it’s not been perfect all week. But in the end I’m very happy with the position. Now we’ve done tarmac, a dry rally, a wet rally and gravel. It’s been a good weekend. I’m very happy to be here now. This is where my season starts.”
Car 5, Hirvonen/Lehtinen
“I’m really happy with that, it’s what we were hoping for. A clean race and get the results. The rear tyres started to go. I tried to make a time, but I don’t think it’s going to be enough. It’s competitive [the car], it’s really working well. A top job for the guys at M-Sport. ”
Car 7, Neuville/Gilsoul
“1km into the stage something is broken, it went rear wheel drive, it was difficult to drive. I had a spin. I tried to secure my sixth place but I was unable to I think. We can work much better than expected in the year. We’ve done much better than expected, the car is still in development. There’s still a lot of work to do. Argentina is another hard event, so we have to be careful. It will be hard and tough so we’ll have to learn from what did here at Portugal.”
Car 8, Hänninen/Tuominen
“It was quite difficult. It was difficult to drive after we went off and hit the rear right. There are many areas we improved and feedback to the engineers.”
Car 9, Mikkelsen/ Markkula
“We tried to push the limit without taking any risks. It’s been a good event. My self-confidence is back where it should be. We stuck to the plan, we didn’t want to push without feeling comfortable. It’s been a good weekend overall. If the feeling stays with the car we’ll try hard in Argentina.”
Car 12, Al Qassimi/ Patterson
“It was a tough weekend, not easy. I would not say that I enjoyed it. It was okay, it think it was down to tyres and their condition. We were pushing and really going to the maximum.”
Car 16, Solberg/Minor
“I’m very satisfied. I’m very happy. The power stage was very good. I’m sure I can beat these young guys, just give me a couple of days to test. I’m very fast!”
Car 21, Prokop/Tománek
“We’ll try to test to improve, the next rally will be better.”
Car 35, Ketomaa/Lindstrom
“I went for maximum attack, but I made some small mistakes.”
Car 36, Barrable/Loudon
“We were just getting comfortable with the car, it was a great rally. Happy with it, hopefully towards the end of the year we might be able to get close to the front.”
Car 40, Al-Attiyah/Bernacchini
“Very good feeling in this last stage, I pushed as hard as I can. I went my maximum.”
Car 41, Fuchs/ Mussano
“I didn’t like the start. But it’s a nice rally, it’s good. I’m going to try and find a good place in Argentina, this is a difficult rally for us.”
Car 42, Tidemand/Floene
“Very, very happy to be on the podium. It was my first rally with the car, it was the goal for me to be on the podium”
Car 43, Sousa/Magalhães
“Unfortunately we had a problem with the exhaust during the morning. We just want to get to the service park to finish the rally for the first time. It was good to compete with the best drivers, but we have to get the rhythm of WRC2.””
Car 45, Aksa/Arena
“It took time to get used to the car, hopefully we’ll do another rally. We’re looking for Sardinia, but it’s all about budgets.”
Car 46, Al-Ketbi/Hepperle
“It was just really good to finish that race, It’s one of the toughest I’ve done.”
Car 47, Al-Kuwari/ Duffy
“I’m very happy with the rally. I enjoyed the stages. I don’t really care about the result, I was still learning. I’m just looking forward to Argentina.”
Car 48, Kangur/Ots
“All in all I think I had some very valuable experience, I hope to make the next one.”
Car 54, Riedemann/ Vanneste
“I was not the fastest in Portugal, but here you have to stay on the road and avoid mistakes because the stages are really rough for the 2wd car.”
Car 56, Koci/ Kostka
“I had some bad luck twice, because yesterday I had a brake problem. Today I had a puncture.”
Car 57, Lefebvre/Dubois
“I was pushing, I made no mistakes, it was good. We drove well. It was fantastic for us.”
Car 70, Kruuda/Jäveoja
“It’s still a competitive car, I think I did a good job. Twelve points is good enough for me here. I drove for 350km and the car is in one piece, I’m very happy, nothing went wrong with the car. I think it can better though.”
