Sting in the tail on final day in Portugal

14 abril 2013

The third and final day of competition on the 2013 Vodafone Rally de Portugal is likely to see a sting in the tail for competitors, with the 52.3Km Almodovar stage running as the last, Power Stage. With additional points on offer for the three fastest crews, many are likely to push to try to gain these additional points over the longest stage of the event and one of the longest in the FIA World Rally Championship.

Qatar M-Sport WRT’s Thierry Neuville will be first on the road on the last day, having crashed out of the second day and will be followed by Citroen Total Abu Dhabi’s Dani Sordo, who suffered the same fate.

The running order will be reversed from overnight positions, so leader Sebastien Ogier from Volkswagen Motorsport will be the last of the World Rally Cars to start the stage, which will be run twice, along with the 21.52Km Silves stage in each loop. Ogier will run 13th on the road to begin with, one position later than team-mate Jari-Matti Latvala.

The first stage begins at 08.06 local time.
