Posts an 8min 08.4sec stage and extends his lead over Neuville to 10 seconds.
Car 4. LAPPI/FERM
The Finn was working on his rear suspension after the Fafe stage and before Luilhas. The rear wheel was replaced on the road section but it was out of alignment. He missed his start time of 10.01hrs and the team confirmed soon afterwards that he was withdrawn from the rally and lost sixth place.

The Norwegian has been struggling with a series of punctures this week. Speaking after
SS17 - “The car is jumping. It is like a trampoline. It is a good bounce. I always love the Fafe stage. I have never been as slow here as I have been in the R5. I have had time to watch the people. I am surprised that they are drinking Super Bock and not Sagres..!”
