Car 1. OGIER/INGRASSIA
“There were some tricky corners near the end. I went wide in one place and made a small
mistake.”
Car 2. EVANS/BARRITT
“The grip was low most of the way through. Near the end some of the corners were like
ice. It was tricky. A more soft tyre choice would have been better in here. We were not to
know that when the end of the last stage was bone dry!”
Car 3. SUNINEN/MARKKULA
“It’s important to be faster than Esapekka. You know hard tyres in the mud we have no
grip at all. It was okay in the middle sections when it was dry.”
Car 4. MIKKELSEN/JAEGER-SYNNEVAAG
“There was some rain. I was a bit cautious over there. When it’s tricky conditions you take
care. We are driving clever.”
Car 5. NEUVILLE/GILSOUL
“I did not know with the tyres in the abrasive parts in the first one. I enjoyed this one. It
was quite fun at the end with the rain. It was quite slippery. Suddenly there was some
standing water and you could see that it was slippery.”
Car 7. LATVALA/ANTTILA
Fastest time. “The first thing is when you improve the car, the car is fast. Then you want to
build up things around it.”
Car 9. LAPPI/FERM
“It’s nice to be in a fight with a fellow Finn. I don’t know how this stage went. It went damp
and you have 200kph under braking. This could be a surprise for many drivers.”
Car 12. ØSTBERG/ERIKSEN
Received assistance from spectators for a half spin in the stage. “I was caught out by the
rain. It was slippery and raining in the beginning. It was drying up and I expected it to stay
dry. I could not see it was getting slippery and I slid wide and got help from spectators.”
Car 16. SORDO/DEL BARRIO
“I tried to push like hell. In the middle of the stage the hard tyres worked like hell. At the
end the car was moving from the rear. There was standing water in places.”
