The ACP helps Starlight to make a child’s wish come true

21 maio 2017

The Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP) helped the British children’s charity Starlight make a wish come true for an ill child, by helping him to visit this year’s Vodafone Rally de Portugal.

Lewis Galliford, from Manchester in the UK, has leukaemia and it was his wish to visit a round of the FIA World Rally Championship and get close to the action. The charity helped him, his mother, father, and brother to visit Matosinhos and the rally to witness the event first-hand.

While here, the ACP offered the family VIP access to the event, which saw them view the action stage-side as well as visit the event headquarters, the service park, and the fan zone.

The highlight of the trip was when Lewis got the chance to meet his favourite driver, Kris Meeke, in the Citroen Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team service area. The youngster had his photo taken with the Irishman and chatted to him and was shown around the team’s service area and watched part of the end-of-day service.
