Today at Vodafone Rally de Portugal – Saturday
The third day of competition on this year’s Vodafone Rally de Portugal sees the crews tackle six more stages, split into two loops of three. The stages are located to the east of Oporto, close to the Parque natural do Alvao.
The action will increase in severity gradually, starting with the 18.66Km Baiao stage. This is followed by 26.31Km of the Marao test before the crews refill their car’s tanks with fuel and head for the last of the three stages that make up each loop.
The 37.67Km of the Amarante stage will put plenty of strain on the cars and crews, with the first run through starting just before noon. The hottest part of the day and the longest stage of the rally will mean that the crews are pleased to return to the service park at EXPONOR in Matosinhos at lunchtime and the end of the day.
Currently, the weather forecast suggests warm days with the possibility of some rain on Friday night but more likely during Saturday night, which will not affect the stages.
