Today sees the crews complete the second and final day of the pre-event recce, where they make and check their pace notes, ready for the start of the rally. They are allowed two passes over each road which is used during the rally and today, they will recce the stages to be used on Saturday, the third day of the rally (the first is Thursday, tomorrow).
They will be checking the stages to the east of Oporto, including the 37.67Km Amarante stage, the 26.31Km of Marao and the 18.66Km of Baiao. They will also recce the short superspecial stage at the Lousada rallycross circuit, which will start the rally tomorrow night and the Paredes shakedown stage, which they will use as a final set-up for their cars tomorrow morning.
While the crews are out on the stages, their teams will be taking the cars through the technical scrutineering at the EXPONOR headquarters, where they will be checked and certain components, such as engines, gearboxes and turbochargers, sealed by the scrutineers.
