More than just a major sporting event, the rally is a platform for change — and year after year, we reinforce our role as a reference in eco-conscious practices within the world of motorsport.
FIA accreditation: a seal of environmental excellence
Since 2017, the Vodafone Rally de Portugal has held the FIA Environmental Accreditation – 3 Stars, the highest level of environmental recognition awarded by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile.
This certification distinguishes events that consistently implement sustainable practices in their organization, resource management and environmental impact.
But our commitment goes beyond certification.
EcoEvento-certified stages
In 2025, three rally stages were officially recognized as EcoEventos:
This recognition stems from a partnership with ERSUC and the local municipalities, highlighting the implementation of exemplary environmental practices along these stages.
Being an EcoEvento means taking real action:
- Installing containers for selective waste separation;
- Reducing litter left behind in spectator areas;
- Raising public awareness for more responsible behavior;
- Actively involving local authorities and communities in the event’s environmental management.
Sustainability is a team effort
Sustainability at an event as large and complex as the Vodafone Rally de Portugal depends on everyone:
- The organizers, who design and apply concrete measures;
- The partners and local authorities, who help implement and monitor those measures;
- And, of course, the public, whose actions on the ground make a real difference.
