In line with Automóvel Club de Portugal's Environmental Policy, and with the aim of decarbonising its operations, the official Rally de Portugal website will also be carbon neutral.
In order to meet this goal, Automóvel Club de Portugal, as organiser of WRC Vodafone Rally de Portugal, has established a partnership with Tree-Nation, the largest global reforestation platform, which will allow real-time monitoring of the website's views and the CO2 emissions associated with its operation, which will then be offset in reforestation projects around the world.
To date, more than 200 kg of CO2 emissions have been offset through plantations in the Eastern Arc Mountains National Forest Reserve in Tanzania, one of the most important global biodiversity sites. This project also promotes environmental education for local communities and reduces extreme poverty through agroforestry initiatives.
