Stage Flash SS7 Mortágua

21 maio 2021

Car 1.    OGIER/INGRASSIA

Two softs on the rear of the car as he continued road-cleaning duties. “Terrible, the worst

of the day. I’m not sure which position I have. Not so many cars in front. At least it will be

better than today.”

Car 6.      SORDO/ROZADA

Stalled in the stage. “One part I lost a lot. The car would not start. One tyre is really bad. I

cannot push, The tyres are finished. I don’t have the material to push.”

Car 11.   NEUVILLE/WYDAEGHE

Slid wide on a fast right-hander and clipped the banking with the car landing on its side.

He managed to get the car back on its wheels, turned round and continued down the

stage with the co-driver holding the door closed. The Belgian ceded 3min 25sec to Ogier

and slipped outside the top 10. “I had a pace note that was too fast. When I saw the

corner and the pace notes it did not work out. A tree stump put us on its side. We thought

the car was not damaged. We are going to try and repair.”

Car 33.   EVANS/MARTIN

Badly held up in the dust and was forced to stop at one point in the stage. No doubt he

will be given a notional time by rally officials.

Car 69.   ROVANPERÄ/HALTTUNEN

“It was really tricky. Pretty difficult day and bad luck but this was a difficult stage.”

Car 18.     KATSUTA/BARRITT

“New stage is nice. Very slippery. Some corners are very slippery. I hit the bank, maybe

twice. I am still learning what this car can do.”

Car 16.     FOURMAUX/JAMOUL

A half spin and finished the stage on a right-rear puncture.

Car 44.     GREENSMITH/PATTERSON

“This felt terrible. I really struggled in there. It’s only once.”
