Another coincidence – Ostberg’s 50th Fiesta
As the weekend of the 2016 Vodafone Rally de Portugal went on, another coincidence emerged. This year is the 50th anniversary of the rally and, as it transpires, an anniversary of sorts for the M-Sport team.
The car used by Mads Ostberg on the event, finishing in seventh place, is the 50th Ford Fiesta RS WRC that M-Sport has built. As such, it uses the registration number ‘OOO 50TH’.
As a total of 57 Fiesta RS WRCs have been built, it was a nice coincidence that this was the example used by Ostberg on this year’s event.
